  • Citizen of the Year to be named at Chamber Banquet

    The 85th Annual Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce will be held on Friday, February 10, 2012, at 7:30 P.M. at the City of Eagle Pass International Center for Trade, 3295 Bob Rogers Drive, Eagle Pass, Texas, announced William Davis, President.

    The keynote speaker for the 85th annual banquet is Dr. Thomas Tunstall, Director of the Center for Community and Business Research of the Institute for Economic Development at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Dr. Tunstall’s presentation is titled: “Impact of the Eagle Ford Shale on South Texas.” Dr. Tunstall recently completed a research study on the economic impact of the Eagle Ford Shale oil and gas drilling in South Texas and will present his findings at the banquet dinner. The swearing-in and installation of the 2012 Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors will be held at the banquet. President William Davis will provide his annual report of the 2011 Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce accomplishments and activities.

    The highlight of the banquet is the presentation of the prestigious Citizen of the Year Award to a local individual(s) who has made extraordinary contributions to the community.

    The nominees for the 2011 Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year Award are Consuelo Cardenas, Juan Antonio Castañeda, Angelica Huerta, Enrique Montalvo, Jr., Jose Armando Perez, Candles for Life, and Teletón Navideño.

    Corporate tables and individual tickets are available for the 85th Annual Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce Banquet by contacting Sandra Martinez at (830) 773-3224. Individual Tickets are $25 per person.

    The banquet is open to both chamber members and the general public.
