Four vehicle auto accident on Bibb Avenue stalls busy post-school traffic

A commercial delivery truck from Rent-A-Center rear-ended a Ford F-150 pick-up truck causing it to hit a Mercury Fusion automobile in front of it and the Mercury Fusion was propelled forward striking a Nissan Murano on Bibb Avenue near the H.E.B. Store during post-school rush hour traffic on Monday, February 25, 2013, at approximately 4:00 p.m., announced Eagle Pass Police Chief Tony Castaneda.
The four vehicle auto accident caused the busy post-school traffic to stall to a snail pace as Eagle Pass Police Department and emergency personnel handled the accident and directed traffic while investigating the accident.
The commercial delivery truck from Rent-A-Center suffered heavy damages to its front part requiring that it become towed from the scene of the accident. The Ford F-150 pick-up truck also sustained heavy damages to its rear and front parts causing it to be towed. Both the Mercury Fusion and Nissan Murano sustained severe damages to their rear parts while the Mercury Fusion also sustained damages to its front part, but both vehicles remained driveable and were driven off the scene of the accident.
The Ford F-150 pick-up truck, Mercury Fusion, and Nissan Murano were stationary waiting for traffic when the Rent-A-Center commercial delivery truck suddenly and violently rear-ended the Ford F-150 pick-up truck causing a chain reaction upon the Mercury Fusion and Nissan Murano.
It is unknown if any of the persons involved in the four vehicle accident sustained any injuries from the severe and strong impact caused by the Rent-A-Center commercial delivery truck.
The accident is under investigation by the Eagle Pass Police Department.
