C.C. Winn Mavericks open football season versus Uvalde Coyotes

The Eagle Pass C. C. Winn High School Mavericks will open the 2013 Texas High School Football Season this Friday, August 30, 2013, against the stout Uvalde High School Coyotes at 7 P.M. at the Honey Bowl in Uvalde, Texas, announced Head Football Coach Eric Villasenor.
The C. C. Winn Mavericks have 18 returning lettermen with six offensive starters and five defensive starters. Leading the Mavericks new Slot T offensive scheme are junior Quarterback Juan Elizondo with standout junior running back Deion Alonso, senior running back Carlos Cerezo, senior running back George Andrade, wide receiver Hector Bermea, tight end Emilio Hinojosa, and offensive linemen Kevin Canizales and Joey Rios. On defense, converted linebacker George Andrade will lead the thundering Mavericks defensive crew with defensive lineman Jose Luis Flores, linebackers Juan Hinojosa, Steven Garcia, and Antonio Caballero, and defensive backs Jonathan Villarreal, Michael Santillano, and Alfredo Barragan.
Joining new Mavericks Head Football Coach Eric Villasenor are Offensive Coordinator and First Assistant Mark Sauceda, Co-Defensive Coordinators Rene Ramirez and Saul Salas, Co-Special Teams Coordinators J.J. Iracheta and Carlos Soto, Receivers Coach Fred Paniagua, Offensive Line Coach Domingo Lopez, Linebackers Coach Gustavo Varela, Offensive Line Coach Rey Jimenez, and Trainers Eloy Salazar and Josue Flores. EPISD Athletic Director is Edward Graf.
The Mavericks look to improve on their 2-8 overall season record in 2012 and qualify for a 2013 Texas High School football playoff berth under rookie Head Coach Eric Villasenor in District 29-5A.
The public is invited to travel to Uvalde on Friday, August 30th, to support the C. C. Winn Mavericks against the Uvalde Coyotes and cheer them on to victory.
