Eagle Pass Little League Baseball Majors All-Stars shut out Bandera/Leakey 9-0 at Sectional

The host team Eagle Pass American Little League Baseball Majors (12 Under) All-Stars shut out the Bandera/Leakey All-Stars 9-0 in their first game of the Little League Texas West-Section 3 Tournament on Wednesday, July 9,2014, at the Henry Staten Little League Field in Fort Duncan Park in Eagle Pass, Texas, behind the slugging power of Hector Montoya who had two home runs in the game and the combined pitching of four players to one hit the Bandera/Leakey All-Stars.
Eagle Pass starting pitcher Hector Montoya combined with pitching teammates Eric Heredia, Sergio Lopez, and Jairo Maldonado to stifle the potent Bandera/Leakey batters, limiting them to one hit and no runs.
On offense, Hector Montoya was a monster hitter as he belted two home runs in the game to aid his team as well as David Lopez, Jacob Ruiz, Jared Roiz, Eric Heredia, Kevin Ochoa, and Juan Guerra contributed on offense.
The Eagle Pass All-Stars next play on Friday, July 11th, at 7 P.M. against the winner between San Antonio Northside Suburban and Kerrville, who play Thursday, July 10th, in the winner’s bracket. The winner between Eagle Pass and opposing team on July 10th advance to the Championship game on Sunday, July 13th, at 7 P.M.
Team members include David Lopez, Jacob Ruiz, Jared Roiz, Juan Guerra, Hector Montoya, Kevin Ochoa, Axel Rodriguez, Jorge Robledo, Eric Heredia, Jairo Maldonado, Jorge Salinas, and Sergio Lopez.
Team Manager is David Lopez and Assistant Coaches are Ricky Ruiz and Freddy Heredia.
Texas Little League District 35 Administrator is Gerald “Gerry” McCrary of Del Rio, Texas. The Little League Texas West-Section 3 Tournament Director is Eagle Pass American Little League President Pedro “Pete” Ramirez.
Eagle Pass baseball fans are invited to attend the Little League Texas West-Section 3 Tournament during July 10-13th being held at Fort Duncan Park in downtown Eagle Pass, featuring daily games starting at 7 P.M. each evening.
