2014 C.C. Winn High School Mavericks Football Schedule

The Eagle Pass C. C. Winn High School Mavericks open the 2014 Texas high school football season in a new district, 29-5A, and on the road against the Laredo LBJ High School Wolves on Friday, August 29, 2014, at 7:30 P.M. at the Laredo United Independent School District Student Activity Complex in a battle between father and son coaches, Okie Villasenor of LBJ and Eric Villasenor of Winn, during what is called the “zero week” (first week) of the season.
The thundering Mavericks are looking to improve and qualify for the state football playoffs under second-year head coach, Eric Villasenor. in the newly formed District 29-5A, which includes Castroville Medina Valley High School Panthers, Somerset High School Bulldogs, Uvalde High School Coyotes, Laredo Martin High School Tigers, Laredo Nixon High School Mustangs, Laredo Cigarroa High School Toros, San Antonio Southside High School Cardinals, and C.C. Winn High School Mavericks.
During the second week of the season, the Mavericks play against the Carrizo Springs High School Wildcats at 7:30 P.M. in Carrizo Springs, Texas on Friday, September 5th.
The Mavericks home debut in the 2014 season is on Friday, September 12th, at 7:30 P.M. against cross-town rival Eagle Pass High School Eagles in the Ninth Annual City Championship, also called the Menudo Bowl, at the Eagle Pass Independent School District (EPISD) Student Activity Center Cozel Foster-Veterans Memorial Stadium during the third week of the season.
During the fourth week of September 19th, the Mavericks are open before commencing District 29-5A action.
During the fifth week, the Mavericks open District 29-5A play against the San Antonio High School Cardinals in the inaugural district game at 7:30 P.M. on Friday, September 26th at the EPISD Student Activity Center Cozel Foster-Veterans Memorial Stadium. The Mavericks game against the Southside Cardinals has been designated as Parents Night.
The Mavericks travel during the sixth week to play the Castroville Medina Valley High School Panthers in an important district game on Friday, October 3rd at 7:30 P.M. in Castroville, Texas.
The Mavericks return home during the seventh week to play the Uvalde High School Coyotes in another critical district game on Friday, October 10th, at 7:30 P.M. at the EPISD Student Activity Center Cozel Foster-Veterans Memorial Stadium.
During the eighth week, the Mavericks travel to play on Saturday, October 18th, against the Laredo Cigarroa High School Toros at 7:00 P.M. at the Laredo Independent School District Shirley Field in another district game.
The Mavericks return home during the ninth week of the season to play the Laredo Martin High School Tigers in a key district game on Friday, October 24th, at 7:30 P.M. at the EPISD Student Activity Center Cozel Foster-Veterans Memorial Stadium.
The Mavericks celebrate the 2014 Homecoming festivities and game on Friday, October 31st, against the Laredo Nixon High School Mustangs at 7:30 P.M. at the EPISD Student Activity Center Cozel Foster-Veterans Memorial Stadium during the tenth week of the season.
The Mavericks conclude the regular season during the eleventh week on Friday, November 7th, against the Somerset High School Bulldogs at 7:30 P.M. in Somerset, Texas.
