Academy Sports & Outdoors Celebrates Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of new Eagle Pass store

Academy Sports and Outdoors officially celebrated the ribbon-cutting ceremony of its new 56,000 square foot Eagle Pass store located at 2083 North Veterans Boulevard at 4:50 P.M., on Thursday, October 16, 2014, amidst 130 store associates and 30 Eagle Pass Big Brothers and Sisters children, whom received a $100 gift card, on a beautiful sunny, blue-sky afternoon on the Texas-Mexico border.
Academy Sports and Outdoors Store Director Eddie Ochoa joined 130 store associates in performing the ribbon-cutting duties, officially proclaiming the new Academy store open for business. The 30 Big Brothers and Big Sisters children were officially the first customers at the new Eagle Pass Academy store. The first official customer to purchase merchandise at the Eagle Pass Academy store was eight year old Saul Perez of San Luis Elementary with loud applause from the store associates.
Academy Sports and Outdoors Store District Manager Hector Lozano told the Eagle Pass Business Journal that the company is excited to be in Eagle Pass and looking forward to being a part of the Middle Rio Grande and Eagle Pass-Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico community.
Store Director Eddie Ochoa invites the public from Eagle Pass, Del Rio, Bracketville, Uvalde, La Pryor, Crystal City, Carrizo Springs, and northern Coahuila, Mexico to shop at the premier sporting goods and apparel store on both sides of the Texas-Mexico border.
The store hours of Academy Sports and Outdoors are Monday through Saturday from 8 A.M. to 10 P.M. and on Sunday from 9 A.M. to 8 P.M..
The new Academy Sports and Outdoors store in Eagle Pass officially opens to the public on Friday, October 17th, at 8 A.M..
