Man jumps from Eagle Pass International Bridge No. 2 sustaining severe injuries

A man, Cesar Musquiz Carrizales, age 32 who had been deported from the United States to Mexico and unsuccessfully attempted to re-enter the United States at the Eagle Pass International Bridge No. 2 Port of Entry and was escorted by U.S. Officers to the Mexican boundary line of the bridge suddenly climbed onto a bridge separation fence and hid from the officers on a bridge pillar.
The officers called the Eagle Pass Fire Department and Eagle Pass Police Department to assist Musquiz Carrizales to get down from the bridge pillar but Musquiz unexpectedly jumped off the bridge pillar some 45 feet off the ground falling face-first and sustaining severe injuries to himself during the early morning hours of Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at approximately 4:20 A.M.
Musquiz Carrizales was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center and transferred to a San Antonio, Texas medical facility for treatment. Musquiz is reportedly in critical condition but stable at the San Antonio hospital.
The incident is under investigation by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Eagle Pass Police Department.
