Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas to hold Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony on Friday, December 19th
The Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas Tribal Council Juan Garza, Jr., Chairman, Jesus Anico, Secretary, Rogelio Elizondo, Treasurer, Nanate Hernandez, Council Member, and Kendall Scott, Council Member, cordially invite the community of Eagle Pass and Maverick County to the official ribbon cutting ceremony for their new administration building, community wellness center, and community health center. This event will take place on Friday, December 19, 2014 at 10:30 am. The buildings are located at 2212 Rosita Valley Rd. Eagle Pass, Tx.
The new Administration Building will be the new home for all the tribal administration offices, legal and accounting departments, tribal council offices and other administration departments.
The Community Wellness Center includes a gymnasium which can be used for basketball and volleyball games and other activities and also includes bleachers. This center also has a completely equipped weight room, physical therapy room, room for zumba and other exercise classes. Another important part of this building is the area designated for the tribal elderly nutrition program, meals on wheels, and a lounge area for the attendees. It also has an equipped and staffed teen game room, computer lab, after school activity room, and a room that can be utilized by tribal members for small events such as birthday parties and other tribal family events.
The New Health Center includes the medical clinic, pharmacy, x-ray and lab departments, and a dental clinic. At the present time the medical services are only available to the tribal members but eventually these services will also be available to all employees employed by all entities of the tribe and their family members and members of the community.
In addition to these new buildings the tribe has initiated other projects such as the 42,000 square foot expansion to the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino, a new 1400 car parking garage, new RV parking area, and other infrastructure projects presently under construction.
All these projects not only benefit the tribe but also provides benefits to our community in the form of additional employment opportunities and income for our citizens.
