Christian Garcia Named to Pre-Season All-America Football Team

Former Eagle Pass High School Eagles standout Football and Track & Field Athlete (Shot Put) Christian Garcia has been named to the USA College Division II Pre-Season All-America Honorable Mention Team for the upcoming 2015 Texas A & M University at Kingsville Javelinas Football Season as an Offensive Lineman, announced Javelinas Head Coach Darren Wilkinson.
Garcia is a senior at Texas A & M University at Kingsville and is entering his fourth year as a starter for the mighty Javelinas football team, He is 6 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs 320 pounds.
He is the son of Luis and Yolanda Garcia of Eagle Pass. He is a Class of 2011 graduate of Eagle Pass High School. During 2014, Garcia was named to the Lone Star Conference Honorable Mention Team as an Offensive Center and in 2013 as an Offensive Guard.
Garcia also has been named a nominee on the AllState AFCA Good Works Grid Team for 2015. The AllState AFCA Good Works Grid Team recognizes college football players who exemplify a superior commitment to community service and volunteerism.
Garcia was nominated for this award by Texas A & M University at Kingsville because he is able to balance academics and athletics while remaining committed to helping others and bettering their communities.
11 players from each Division I, II, and III will be named to the 2015 AllState AFCA Good Works Grid Team. Garcia hopes to be one of those 11 named in Division II.
Garcia is only one of two players from the Lone Star Conference to be nominated for this award together with Angelo State University Rams quarterback Kyle Washington.
The award will be announced in September of 2015.
While at Eagle Pass High School, Garcia was named the District 29-5A Offensive Player of the Year in 2010 and an All-State Track & Field Athlete in the Shot Put qualifying two years for the State Championship in Division 5A and 6A, respectively.
Garcia is a Kinesiology major at TAMUK.
