City hosts 4th of July Festivities & Fireworks Show

The City of Eagle Pass is hosting many activities for the entire family during the 4th of July Independence Day weekend commencing on Thursday, July 2, 2015 through Saturday, July 4, 2015, announced Eagle Pass Parks & Recreation Director Jorge Sanchez.
The 4th of July Independence Day festivities kick-off with the talented and lovely Miss 4th of July, Miss Liberty, Little Miss 4th of July, and Little Miss Liberty Beauty Pageants on Thursday, July 2nd at 7 P.M. at the lawn of the Old Historic Maverick County Courthouse located at 501 Main Street in downtown Eagle Pass. The beauty pageants are sponsored by the City of Eagle Pass Main Street Program and Rosa Elena Jimenez of Jimenez Modeling Agency. Admission is free and come and enjoy Eagle Pass’ most beautiful and talented young ladies under the moonlit skies of downtown Eagle Pass.
The 4th of July festivities continue on Saturday, July 4th, with the traditional 4th of July Parade at 11 A.M. through downtown Eagle Pass, starting at Main & Ceylon and continuing through Main Street to Ryan Street in Shelby Park on the banks of the Rio Grande River. Celebrate your spirit and freedom at the 4th of July Independence Day Parade. Admission is free.
The 4th of July festivities continue on Saturday, July 4th, with the Third Annual Normandy Gypsy Motorcycle Club Car Show from 12 Noon to 4 P.M. at Shelby Park with over 100 cars and bicycles participating for cash prizes to the top winners. Admission is free.
The City will host many food, beverages, games, and water games at Shelby Park starting at 12 Noon until supplies last. Come and taste the best fajitas, tortas, tacos, turkey legs, and games. Many local organizations will sponsor a food or game booth for fundraising purposes.
The 4th of July Independence Day festivities continue with a live music concert and celebration starting at 5 P.M. at Shelby Park on the banks of the Rio Grande.
Among the musical groups scheduled to perform are La Calma at 6:00pm, Eagle Pass’s very own Da Krazy Pimpz at 7:00pm, the sensational Eddie Gonzalez at 8:15 pm followed by the City’s Official Fire Works Show sponsored by H.E.B. at 10 P.M., another musical performance by the popular Grupo Solido at 10:20 P.M., and ending with the fabulous Hometown Boyz at 11:40 P.M.
All Eagle Pass residents and visitors from Mexico and surrounding areas are invited to attend the City of Eagle Pass 4th of July Independence Day Festivities from July 2nd through July 4th with free admission to all the events, except the food and beverage booths, said Jorge Sanchez, Eagle Pass Parks & Recreation Department Director. There will be fun and exciting patriotic things for the entire family to enjoy. Come and celebrate the United States of America’s 239th Anniversary and Independence Day.
