C. C. Winn Mavericks Open Football Season Versus Laredo LBJ

The thundering Eagle Pass C. C. Winn High School Mavericks kick-off the 2015 Texas High School Football Season in a classic Father versus Son match-up under the helm of Head Coach Eric Villasenor against the rising Laredo LBJ High School Wolves led by Mavericks Head Coach Eric Villasenor’s father, Oki Villasenor, on Friday, August 28, 2015, at 7:30 P.M. at the Eagle Pass Independent School District Cozel Foster-Veterans Memorial Football Stadium in Eagle Pass, Texas.
Leading the Mavericks spread offense includes Quarterback Reyes Lopez, Running Back Edward Martinez, Slotbacks Alfonso Cardona and Gilbert Rodriguez, Wide Receivers Ruben Esquivel and Julio Ruiz, Tight End Jose Rodriguez, Center Juan Dees, Guards Joey Salazar and Mario Elizondo, Tackles Carlos Tijerina and Jaime Fuentes, Punter Julio Ruiz, and Place Kickers Raudel Gomez and Norberto Barragan.
On Defense, the Mavericks will feature Defensive Linemen Daniel Rios, Enrique Garza, and Eduardo Salazar, Linebackers Ramiro Valdez, Ryan Pike, Albert Duran, and German De Luna, and Defensive Backs Alex De Jesus, Raul Gomez, Rene Aures, and Alonso Vallejo.
The Mavericks will battle to make their first state football playoff appearance by finishing among the top four teams in District 29-5A.
Assisting Head Coach Eric Villasenor include Offensive Coordinator Heriberto Roiz, Defensive Co-Coordinators Rene Ramirez and Saul Salas, Special Teams Co-Coordinators J.J. Iracheta, Jr. and Carlos Soto, and Assistant Coaches Ricardo Hoffman, Gustavo Varela, Domingo Lopez, Fred Paniagua, Isaac Gracia, Sergio Esquivel, Tony Martinez, and Paulo Valero.
