29 year old man arrested for four pipe bombs, two handguns, and one pound of methamphetamine
On May 26, 2016 an Eagle Pass Police Department Task Force Officer assigned to the Drug Enforcement Administration Office responded to a service call at the Highway 57 U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint.
The service call yielded the arrest of a 29 year old male who was discovered to be in possession of one (1) ounce of crystal methamphetamine and two (2) weapons, one of which was discovered to have been reported stolen.
Consent was later obtained to search a residence in connection with this incident located approximately ten (10) miles north of Eagle Pass in which Eagle Pass Police and Federal officers discovered approximately one (1) pound of crystal methamphetamine, several handguns and four (4) homemade explosive devises (pipe bombs).
Upon discovering the explosive devises, specialized personnel from the Laredo Police Department attached to Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) were summoned and arrived to neutralize and disarm the four (4) devises.
The arrested suspect at this time is facing possible charges of domestic terrorism.
This case continues under investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
