Eagle Pass C. C. Winn High School Student dies from attempted suicide wounds

A 16 year old male student of Eagle Pass C. C. Winn High School, Jonathan Sanchez, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2016, at a San Antonio, Texas hospital succumbing to wounds sustained in an earlier suicide attempt at his home on Tuesday, April 272016 in Eagle Pass, Texas.

Sanchez attempted to commit suicide by hanging himself with a chain at his home located at 300 Concho Street in Eagle Pass on April 27th.  

Eagle Pass Police Department and Eagle Pass Fire Department EMS arrived at the scene of the youth’s home and found him unconscious.  EMS was able to resuscitate Jonathan Sanchez at the scene and was transported to Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for emergency medical treatment and later airlifted to a San Antonio, Texas hospital.

Unfortunately, young Jonathan Sanchez passed away on Saturday, April 30th, due to the severe injuries he sustained in the suicide attempt.

Eagle Pass Independent School District Superintendent Gilberto Gonzalez issued a press release expressing the entire school district’s condolences and sympathy on the passing of young Jonathan Sanchez as well as another eight year old male student from Henry B. Gonzalez Elementary from an accidental gunshot wound to his neck on April 3o, 2016.
