Eagle Pass Lady Eagles host Weslaco Lady Panthers in Area Softball Championship

The 2016 District 29-6A and Bi-District Champions, Eagle Pass High School Lady Eagles, host the Weslaco High School Lady Panthers in the UIL Region IV, Class 6A, Area Softball Championship in a best of three series during May 6-7, 2016 at the Laredo United Independent School District Student Activity Complex in Laredo, Texas.
Fresh from their complete shut out of the La Joya High School Lady Coyotes in two consecutive games (11-0, 12-0) in Bi-District, the Eagle Pass Lady Eagles will face the Weslaco Lady Panthers in Game 1 of the best of three series on Friday, May 6, 2016, at 7:30 P.M. at the Laredo United ISD SAC.
Game 2 of the Area Championship series between the Lady Eagles and Lady Panthers is on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the Laredo United ISD SAC at 4 P.M., and if necessary, Game 3 will follow 30 minutes after Game 2 at the same location.
The mighty Lady Eagles will seek to defeat the Weslaco Lady Panthers in the Area Championship in order to advance to the Regional Quarter-Finals Championship and will be led by their standout pitching tandem of Kaitlin Galvan and Leenette Krezdorn and their stout defensive and offensive team members Heather Ruiz, Melanie Mendoza, Sairah Gonzalez, Amanda Appleton, Nina Flores, Janessa Garza, Miryam Salinas, Anna Aguado, Brooke Diaz, Leslie Martinez, Izabell Ruiz, Lysandra Gonzalez, Karina Ruiz, Kayla Sepulveda, Elena De Alba, and Kayla Ochoa.
The Lady Eagles are under the direction of Head Coach Oscar Ruiz in his 10th season as head of the Eagle Pass Lady Eagles Softball Program and is assisted by Assistant Coaches Ricky Ruiz, Larissa Gonzalez, and Charlie Ruiz.
All the Eagle Pass softball aficionados are encouraged to attend and travel to Laredo, Texas this weekend to cheer and support the high-flying Eagle Pass Lady Eagles win the Area Softball Championship.
