Judith Canales receives Women of Distinction Award at TAMACC Luncheon
The Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce (TAMACC) recently honored 13 outstanding Latina business and community leaders at the fifth annual Women of Distinction Awards luncheon held May 13, 2016 in Austin, Texas.
Among the award recipients is Judith A. Canales of Eagle Pass, Texas. Ms. Canales serves as the State Executive Director of the United States Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency Texas State Office located in College Station, Texas. Previously she was the Administrator for the Rural Business Cooperative Programs of USDA Rural Development in Washington, D.C.
“I know I speak for all our Chamber and business members in congratulating this year’s Women of Distinction award recipients,” said TAMACC Chairman of the Board Sam Guzman. “Year after year we are proud and honored to recognize and celebrate the outstanding successes and contributions that Hispanic women make to our communities, state, and indeed our nation.”
Ms. Canales was joined at the event by her husband, Juan Antonio Tovar of Eagle Pass, her mother, Mrs. Susana Canales of Uvalde and sister-in-law Mrs. Debra Canales of San Antonio.
