Eagle Pass Eagles Kick-Off 2016 Football Season against Medina Valley Panthers

The mighty Eagle Pass High School Eagles kick-off the 2016 Texas High School Football season against the Medina Valley High School Panthers under the direction of Head Coach Tom Gonzalez this Friday, August 26, 2016, at 7:30 P.M.at the Eagle Pass Independent School District Student Activiity Center’s Cozel Foster-Veterans Memorial Stadium in Eagle Pass, Texas.
The Eagles will feature on Offense standout running back Mark Venegas, Quarterback Ricky Medina, Jose Riojas as Wing Back, Carlos De Luna and Brian Palacios as Slot Back, Wide Receivers Rick Reyes, Brian Esquivel, and Isaac Perales, Center Cody Esquivel, Guards Jovan Garza and Jorge Guardado, and Tackles Adrian Rodriguez and Isaac Castillo.
The Eagles Offensive Coordinator is Javier Cardenas while Riche Gonzalez will serve as Wide Receivers Coach, Pete Venegas coaches Quarterbacks, Beto Garcia coaches Running Backs, and Sammy Navejas coaches the Offensive Line.
On the Defensive front, the Eagles will showcase Nose Guard Jesus Fernandez, Defensive Ends Kaleb Garcia and Angel Miranda, Defensive Tackles Haran Rodriguez and Fabian Duenes, Linebackers David Ramos, David Kypuros, Brandon Garza, and Alec Alvarez, Cornerbacks Darwin Lechler and Armando Martinez, and Safeties Kevin Garcia and Alan Morales. The Eagles Place Kicker and Punter is Jose Riojas.
The Eagles Defensive Coordinator is Roger Olivas while Ricky Ruiz coaches the Linebackers, Joe Villa will coach the Cornerbacks, and Oscar Ruiz will be the Special Teams Coordinator. Assistant Coaches include Ruben Besa, Jesus Juarez, and Mauricio Mata.
The visiting Medina Valley Panthers will be under new Head Coach Chris Soza, formerly of Alice High School Coyotes, and assisted by his son, Eric Soza, formerly Quarterback of the University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunners. The Panthers are a perennial formidable team and are coming off a playoff run last year in District 29-5A, advancing to the Bi-District Championship.
