U.S. Customs & Border Protection Officer Jose Carlos Echevarria found dead at his home

United States Customs and Border Protection Officer Jose Carlos Echevarria, age 54, of 1701 Camarinos Drive in Eagle Pass, Texas was found dead at his home on Tuesday, August 16, 2016, after co-workers looked for him since he failed to show up for work.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Eagle Pass Police Department Officers went to Echevarria’s residence after failing to report for work on August 16th. The Officers located Echevarria dead inside his home and summoned Justice of the Peace of Precinct 4 Tere Melendrez, whom pronounced Echevarria deceased. Judge Melendrez found Echevarria to have passed away from natural causes and did not order the traditional autopsy.
It is unknown of what natural causes Officer Echevarria passed away from, whether a heart attack or a previous illness.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security mourns the death of Officer Jose Carlos Echevarria. Funeral arrangements have not been announced as of press time.
