A total of 739 Maverick Countians cast their ballots during the first day of the Early Voting Period on Monday, October 24, 2016, at the City of Eagle Pass Multi-Purpose Center in Eagle Pass, Texas to kick off the 2016 General Election.
Early Voting will continue at the Multi-Purpose Center until Friday, November 4, 2016.
Maverick County Hospital District Board of Director incumbent candidate, Ricardo “Rica” Calderon, encourages all 29,000 plus registered voters in Maverick County to come out and take advantage of the important Early Voting Period. “Many voters may have personal, family, or work-related commitments on General Election Day, Tuesday, November 8, 2016, which may prevent them from voting and having their voice be heard in the U.S. Presidential Election, federal election contests, statewide races, and important local Hospital District, School Board, and County-wide races. However, the State of Texas has created this 14 days of Early Voting Period to give everyone the opportunity to cast their ballot and be counted in each contested race,” said Calderon. “The right to vote is a national civic duty and privilege that many American men and women have sacrificed their lives to defend this legal right. Exercise your civic duty today and vote during Early Voting Period,” added Calderon.
23 Maverick County candidates and/or their representatives are available outside the Multi-Purpose Center to answer any questions that voters may have concerning a particular issue or their candidacy. Please feel free to come out and speak with the candidates and/or their representatives.
Calderon recommends all Maverick Countians vote during the Early Voting Period and just get it done.
