Eagle Pass Eagles 4th Quarter Rally stymied by Del Rio Rams defense with interception in end zone as time expires, Rams beat Eagles 24-17

The mighty Eagle Pass High School Eagles late rally in the fourth quarter fell short as the playoff-bound Del Rio Rams defense stymied the potent Eagles offense with a game ending interception in the Rams end zone to seal the District 29-6A victory by the final score of 24-17.
The Eagles valiantly and courageously fought throughout the game with the game tied 14-14 at halftime, but the Rams scored 10 points in the second half compared to the Eagles three points to outlast the Eagles, 24-17.
During halftime, the 2016 Eagle Pass Eagles Homecoming Queen and King were announced with Samantha Vielma and Chance Rodriguez representing Cheerleaders garnering top honors as Queen and King. Also presented were the 2016 Homecoming Court, including Miguel Gonzalez and Sofia Montes representing the Mighy Eagle Band as Princess and Prince; Erica Montes and Alek Alvarez representing Football as Duchess and Dutch; Teri Cardenas and Ruben Rodriguez representing BTA as Countess and Count; and Fernanda Gonzalez and Robert Castro representing Diamond Dance Team as Lady and Lord.
