Roger Perez and Carlos Coral named Mr. Amigos for 2017 Abrazo Ceremony between Eagle Pass & Piedras Negras

The Eagle Pass-Piedras Negras International Good Neighbor Council announced that longtime Eagle Pass entrepreneur Roger Perez and legendary Mexican songwriter and singer Carlos Coral have been selected as Mr. Amigos to represent Eagle Pass, Texas and Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico in the 2017 Abrazo Ceremony on Friday, March 24, 2017, at 5:30 p.m. at the City of Eagle Pass International Bridge No. 1 in Eagle Pass, Texas.
The Abrazo Ceremony kicks-off the annual International Friendship Festival between the two sister cities of Eagle Pass and Piedras Negras, Coahuila on the U.S.-Mexico border.
The traditional Abrazo Ceremony is led by the two persons selected as Mr. Amigos(as) in a friendship hug between neighbors on the United States and Mexico border to acknowledge the interdependence of both cities, countries, and peoples as one community.
Public officials and representatives, business leaders, civic leaders, families, and friends will be participating in the 2017 Abrazo Ceremony on Friday, March 24th, at the Eagle Pass International Bridge No. 1.
