Eagle Passan Mario A. Aranda, Jr. announced the founding of Grupo Aranda Foundation in Eagle Pass, Texas to assist working-class families with free residential housing and residential repairs or remodeling in the community.
Aranda is Founder, President, and Chairman of the newly incorporated Grupo Aranda Foundation. Aranda stated that the foundation “will award free residential housing each year for working-class families in the area….and provide basic housing repairs for eligible families for free of charge.”
Aranda stated that “thirty-three percent (33%) of the population in our community lives under the poverty guideline in substandard housing. We created this Foundation based on our community’s needs to live in a home that meets a basic standard of living.” “We are not talking about unnecessary upgrades, simply homes and housing repairs that include all the essential services that any citizen should be able to access; something that a third of our community seriously lacks at the moment,” said Aranda.
Grupo Aranda Foundation will officially commence operations in Maverick County in June of 2017. The first order of business is the development of the criteria and regulations for eligibility of local residents in the free housing assistance and repairs program. Upon completion of this task, Grupo Aranda Foundation will provide information to the public on how they can apply for these free housing services.
