Eagle Pass Independent School District Student Activity Center Fine Arts Building Named After Raul Gonzalez

The Eagle Pass Independent School District (EPISD) Board of Trustees approved to name the EPISD Student Activity Center Fine Arts Building in honor of former EPISD Music Director Raul Gonzalez on Tuesday, June 14, 2017.
Raul Gonzalez worked at the EPISD for over 30 years as Band Director and Music Director of Eagle Pass High School, providing leadership and development of the music, band, and mariachi music programs within the EPISD.
EPISD Superintendent Gilberto Gonzalez presented the Board of Trustees with the proposal to name and dedicate the Fine Arts Building in honor of Raul Gonzalez for his outstanding contributions to the music program at the EPISD.
Raul Gonzalez was present at the June 14th Board meeting accompanied by his wife, Rosalinda B. Gonzalez, and family members and many friends in the community.
After its approval by the EPISD Board of Trustees, the Fine Arts Building will now be known as the Raul Gonzalez Fine Arts Building.
The EPISD Board also approved to order the signage letters naming the Raul Gonzalez Fine Arts Center at an estimated cost of $25,000.
An official dedication ceremony unveiling the Raul Gonzalez Fine Arts Building will be held in the future.
