A single vehicle roll over accident on U.S. Highway 277 South in Maverick County, Texas on Friday, August 11, 2017, at approximately 6 A.M. caused minor injuries to an Eagle Pass, Texas man, Martin Duenez, age 30, while a Ford Pick-Up Truck driven by Duenez sustained serious damages in the roll over accident.
Maverick County Sheriff’s Department reported that presumably Martin Duenez fell asleep at the wheel of the Ford Pick-Up Truck while enroute to work from Eagle Pass to Carrizo Springs, Texas. Duenez lost control of the vehicle and rolled over several times before landing upright.
Duenez was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for medical treatment of his injuries. He was driving a company vehicle belonging to an oil and gas company doing work in the Eagle Ford Shale in Dimmit County, Texas.
Sheriff Tom Schmerber cautions all drivers to get plenty of rest and sleep sufficient hours before going to work.
