Alleged Explosive Device Found at Eagle Pass ISD District Service Center Gate
Update: As a result of the Saturday, September 23rd’s preliminary investigation over the device that was left in front of Eagle Pass Independent School District’s District Service Center gate, it was determined that the items found did not contain any explosive content.
EPISD Superintendent, Mr. Gilberto Gonzalez, would like to thank all the law enforcement agencies that came out this morning to collaborate and work towards solving this incident. He would like to emphasize that the school district’s priority will remain the assurance of student and staff safety. No staff member was on site during anytime of this investigation which remains ongoing.
The investigation was handled by EPISD Police Department, Eagle Pass Police Department, Maverick County Sheriff’s Office, Eagle Pass Fire Department, FBI, FBI Bomb Squad, Laredo Bomb Squad, Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol, Texas Rangers, and ATF
Original story: Early Saturday, September 23, 2017 Eagle Pass Independent School District Police Department was contacted in reference to an explosive device that was left outside the District Service Center gate. EPISD PD and other Emergency personnel are looking into the situation and at this time no evacuations have been made.
