Cecilia A. Mascorro Announces Bid For State District Judge Of 293rd Court
Ceclia A. Mascorro formally announced her bid for the 293rd State District Court Judge on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at 5:30 p.m. in front of the Maverick County Courthouse.
Attorney Cecilia A. Mascorro is an Eagle Pass native and is married to Mexican Consulate Officer Alejandro Alvarez-Venegas, they cherish their family life and their two year old son, Kenneth Alexander Alvarez-Mascorro.
Cecilia is an 1998 honors graduate of Eagle Pass High School. She went on to study International Relations and Journalism at the University of Miami, in Coral Gables, Florida, where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications in 2002.
Cecilia continued her academic dream to become an attorney and earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence (law degree) at Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas, in 2006. She is licensed to practice law by the Texas Supreme Court.
Cecilia is the Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas (KTTT) Prosecuting Attorney and the KTTT Indian Child Welfare Attorney, and maintains an active law practice in the Texas State Courts, as well.
Cecilia has devoted her life to public service and has been an active member of the community. Cecilia is an active supporter of the Eagle Pass Children’s Library for the advancement of children’s literacy, Pet Companion Organization, Eagle Pass Boys Baseball, Miss Eagle Pass Pageants, and formally served on the Eagle Pass Animal Grievance Board.
She currently serves as the Government Relations Chairman for the City of Eagle Pass Business and Economic Development Committee, and is also a member of the Eagle Pass Rotary Club and the Eagle Pass Independent School District Foundation.
If elected, Cecilia vows to maintain integrity, transparency, and objectivity by adhering to the rule of law and her values. Cecilia will also keep an open line of communication between the court and the public, attorneys, probation officers, CPS case workers, and law enforcement by using the latest forms of technology, to ensure the highest levels of court room efficiency.
Cecilia is committed to being an accessible judge and keeping the court open to suggestions through an open-door policy. Cecilia will take budget considerations very seriously and will tailor her administration salaries, in accordance to the needs of our community. Cecilia will ensure that her administration provides excellent customer service to all.
As a judge, Cecilia will work to consolidate cases, make prompt rulings in a way that the court will be most
efficient and practical for both the public and attorneys. She will be fair, equally distribute court appointments amongst local attorneys in the three counties. Cecilia vows to protect our children and the citizens of Maverick, Dimmit, and Zavala counties.
Cecilia is ready to work to bring an equal, fresh and efficient perspective to the 293rd State District Court while always maintaining justice as the top priority.
Cecilia is very enthusiastic to participate in the 2018 Texas Democratic Primary Election.
