City of Eagle Pass “Ready To Work Collaborative Career Fair” Deemed Successful By Participants

Over 600 students and adults attended the City of Eagle Pass, Texas “Ready To Work Collaborative Career Fair” held on Thursday, September 28, 2017, at the City of Eagle Pass International Center for Trade. Participants deemed the “Ready To Work Collaborative Career Fair” a successful and extremely helpful event.
Approximately 500 participating high school students from five area school districts learned about many career opportunities and the educational requirements necessary to apply and work in the the diverse careers of their choice during the morning session.
Another 100-150 adults also participated in the second afternoon session of the September 28th “Ready To Work Collaborative Career Fair” seeking new career opportunities and job requirements.
A total of 18 agencies and businesses participated in the September 28th “Ready To Work Collaborative Career Fair.”
Joining the City of Eagle Pass Business and Economic Development Committee in producing the “Ready To Work Collaborative Career Fair” were the Middle Rio Grande Development Council, Texas Workforce Commission, the Middle Rio Grande Workforce Solutions, Southwest Texas Junior College, Sul Ross State University-Rio Grande College, and the City of Eagle Pass.
Eagle Pass Mayor Ramsey English Cantu welcomed the participants to the “Ready To Work Collaborative Career Fair” and encouraged everyone to learn about the many job opportunities available in the community of Eagle Pass.
The “Ready To Work Collaborative Career Fair” was organized by the Labor Training Sub-Committee of the City of Eagle Pass Business and Economic Development Committee, including Terri Contreras, Gilberto Gonzalez, Romelia Aranda, Ronnie Rivera, Michelle Torres, Marlene Ramirez, Janice Gonzalez, Ernie Gonzalez, and Morris Libson.
