Eagle Pass Municipal Court Judge Francisco Martinez and Assistant Municipal Court Judge Teresa Melendrez Re-Appointed by City Council

The City of Eagle Pass, Texas City Council unanimously approved the re-appointment of Municipal Court Judge Francisco Martinez and Assistant Municipal Court Judge Teresa Melendrez at their special meeting held on Tuesday, October 10, 2017.
According to the October 10th meeting agenda item No. 9, the Eagle Pass City Council went into Executive Session to consult with City Attorney Heriberto Morales of Langley and Banack regarding the appointment/reappointment of Municipal Court Judge and Assistant Municipal Court Judges and possible action in Open Session regarding this agenda item.
Upon returning from Executive Session, City Councilmember and Mayor Pro-Tem Yolanda Ramon motioned that Municipal Court Judge Francisco Martinez be reappointed at a salary of $88,000 per year, a $3,000 increase from last year’s salary of $85,000, and that Assistant Municipal Court Judge Teresa Melendrez be reappointed at a salary of $500 per weekend that she serves, a $250 salary increase from last year’s $250 per weekend salary, and Councilmember Luis E. Sifuentes seconded the motion, which the City Council unanimously approved.
Assistant Municipal Court Judge Teresa Melendrez also serves as a publicly elected Maverick County Justice of the Peace Precinct 4 in Maverick County, Texas.
