Eagle Pass Eagles Host McAllen High Bulldogs for Bi-District Football Championship, Eagle Pass Winn Mavericks Face Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial Eagles for Bi-District Football Championship

For the first time in Eagle Pass Independent School District football history, the two local high schools have qualified for the University Interscholastic League Post-Season Football Playoffs in the same year. Previously, only one school had qualified while the other one did not.
EAGLE PASS EAGLES
The mighty Eagle Pass High School Eagles, representing District 29-6A as its District Co-Champion, will host the McAllen High School Bulldogs, representing District 30-6A, on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 7:30 P.M. at home in the Eagle Pass Independent School District Cozel Foster-Veterans Memorial Stadium in Eagle Pass, Texas.
The Eagle Pass Eagles last won a District football championship in 1996, 21 years ago. The 2017 District 29-6A Football Co-Championship erases the 21 year drought.
The Eagle Pass Eagles will enter the Region IV, 6A Division 2 Bi-District Football Championship with an overall season record of 8-2 and 6-1 in District standings while the McAllen High Bulldogs come in with an overall season record of 4-6 and 3-3 District mark.
The Eagles will enter the Bi-District Championship fresh from a 30-0 shut out of arch-rival Del Rio Rams compared to the McAllen High Bulldogs victory over Mission High School Eagles by the score of 34-27.
Both the Eagles and the Bulldogs will be prepared and ready for a hard-hitting football championship game on Friday, November 17th. The Eagles are under the direction of Head Coach Tom Gonzalez while the Bulldogs are under the leadership of Head Coach Kevin Brewer.

EAGLE PASS WINN MAVERICKS
The thundering Eagle Pass C. C. Winn High School Mavericks, representing District 29-5A as its fourth place team, will face the Corpus Christi Veterans-Memorial High School Eagles, representing District 30-5A as its Champion, on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 7:30 P.M. at the Schertz-Cibolo Consolidated Independent School District Lenhoff Stadium in Schertz, Texas.
The Winn Mavericks first ever District Football Championship was last year in 2016 when they were crowned District 29-5A Co-Champions together with the Floresville Tigers.
The Winn Mavericks will enter the Region IV, 5A Division 1 Bi-District Football Championship with an overall season record of 3-7 and 2-3 in District standings while the Corpus Christi Veterans-Memorial Eagles come in with an overall season record of 9-1 and 4-0 District mark.
The Mavericks will enter the Bi-District Championship after a loss to the Uvalde Coyotes 27-6 in District 29-5A while the Corpus Christi Veterans-Memorial Eagles lost to Corpus Christi Calallen 46-25 last week.
The Mavericks and the Eagles will be prepared and ready for a hard-fought battle for the Bi-District Football Championship on Friday, November 17th. The Mavericks are under the tutelage of Head Coach Eric Villasenor while the Corpus Christi Veterans-Memorial Eagles are under the helm of Head Coach Cody Simper.
