Maverick County Attorney Ricardo Ramos files for Candidacy for 293rd Judicial District Court

Maverick County Attorney Ricardo “Rick” Ramos filed his candidacy for the 293rd Judicial District Court Judgeship with the Texas Democratic Party in Austin, Texas, resulting in his automatic resignation as County Attorney until the Maverick County Commissioners Court appoint a new County Attorney to replace him for his unexpired term until 2020.
Ramos was accompanied by his wife, Olga Ramos, children, family, friends, and supporters at a public announcement of his candidacy for the Tri-County 293rd District Court Judgeship, including Dimmit, Maverick and Zavala Counties, held on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at historic San Juan Plaza in Eagle Pass, Texas.
Ramos is a graduate of Eagle Pass High School, the University of Texas at San Antonio, and the Thomas Cooley Law School. He is also a veteran and officer with the United States Army and a reserve member of the Texas National Guard.
Ramos has served as Maverick County Attorney for several years as well as owned and managed his own law firm known as the Law Office of Ricardo Ramos in Eagle Pass, Texas.
Ramos stated that he wishes to continue serving the people of Maverick, Dimmit, and Zavala Counties as its new 293rd District Court Judge on January 1, 2019 after the March 6th and November 6th, 2018 Primary and General Elections.
Ramos becomes the third candidate seeking the 293rd District Court Judgeship after incumbent Judge Cynthia Muniz announced that she would not seek re-election after a successful legal and jurist career.
