Maverick County Sheriff Tom Schmerber announced at the Maverick County Commissioners Court Meeting held on Monday, January 8, 2018 that the Sheriff’s Office is purchasing seven new vehicles to be used by Sheriff Deputies in patrolling the County.
Sheriff Schmerber noted that these new seven vehicles are greatly needed as the existing Maverick County Sheriff’s Department fleet of vehicles have high mileage from daily patrolling usage and need to be replaced.
Sheriff Schmerber added that these new seven vehicles will be purchased in cash by Maverick County and will be receiving significant savings from this method instead of financing the purchase of the vehicles. Schmerber stated that once ordered, these new vehicles will take four to five months to accept delivery and placing them into County service.
