Early Voting Period Kicks-Off on Tuesday, February 20th, at Eagle Pass Multi-Purpose Center

With over 30,000 Maverick County registered voters, Maverick County is poised to make a significant difference in the March 6, 2018 Texas Primary Election for candidates in both the Democratic and Republican Parties in local, state, and federal political races as the Early Voting Period Kicks-Off on Tuesday, February 20th, at the City of Eagle Pass Multi-Purpose Center from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M.
Over 30 Maverick County candidates and over 300 statewide candidates are vying for different local, state, and federal elections. Maverick County’s goal is to draw over 20,000 registered voters to come out and exercise their right to vote during the Early Voting Period which runs from February 20th through March 2nd and on regular Election Day on Tuesday, March 6th. The more Maverick Countians vote, the larger the difference Maverick County voters make in local, statewide, and national elections, drawing the attention of Austin and Washington, D.C.. Legislators.
Maverick County candidates are visiting voters at their homes, neighborhoods, clubs, public events, and making their lists of voters to contact in preparation for the Early Voting Period, which starts on Tuesday, February 20th. Candidates are engaging volunteers, supporters, and paid campaign workers to start strong during the Early Voting Period. One candidate noted that the top paid campaign workers, also known as “acarreadoras” or “politiqueras”, are charging between $600 to $800 per week during the campaign season.
Maverick County voters are reminded to bring a valid Identification Card with them to the polling place at the Multi-Purpose Center such as your Texas Drivers License or Texas Identification Card.
Your vote is your voice and power to make a difference in local, state, and national politics and policies. Make sure you and your family members eligible to vote do come out and vote during the Early Voting Period, February 20th through March 2nd, and on regular Election Day on Tuesday, March 6th.
