Texas Border Sheriffs to Meet with State of Coahuila, Mexico Attorney General in Eagle Pass

Maverick County, Texas Sheriff Tom Schmerber announced a meeting between several Texas Border Sheriffs with the new State of Coahuila, Mexico Attorney General Gerardo Marquez Guevara will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 11 A.M. at a ranch in Eagle Pass, Texas, located on the Texas-Mexico Border, to meet the new State of Coahuila Attorney General and discuss collaboration between Texas Border Sheriffs and the State of Coahuila’s Attorney General Office regarding border security issues.
Schmerber noted that former State of Coahuila Attorney General Homero Ramos had established a working relationship with Texas Border Sheriffs and the meeting is to meet new State of Coahuila Attorney General Gerardo Marquez Guevara and discuss continuation of their working relationship concerning border security, identification and location of missing persons, arrest of fugitives, and other security issues.
Schmerber stated that several Texas Border Sheriffs have confirmed their attendance at the February 13th meeting in Eagle Pass.
The international collaborative law enforcement between Texas Border Sheriffs and the State of Coahuila, Mexico Attorney General’s Office is unique and innovative among United States-Mexico border states and has produced positive results regarding border security issues to date.
