Eagle Pass Police Department Crime Report
Monday, May 7, 2018, 8:44 PM: Eagle Pass Police Officers responded to a reported robbery at a residence within the 900 block of Comal Street. Investigating officers were informed by a female complainant of an alleged robbery which occurred as she walked within the 1300 block of Ferry Street. The female complainant alleges an unidentified Hispanic male approximately 35-40 years of age with shoulder length hair pushed her form behind as she walked and pushed her son in a stroller. The complainant informed officers that upon being pushed she fell to the ground at which time the unidentified male grabbed her pink wallet from her hand and fled running west on Ferry Street. The complainant advised her child in the stroller was not harmed. EMS was summoned to the scene as officers searched the area to no avail for the suspect. This case remains under investigation by the Eagle Pass Police Department.
Thursday, May 10, 2018, 1:36 AM: Eagle Pass Police Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop pursuant to a traffic violation on a 2005 gray Ford F-150 within the 1700 block of Del Rio Boulevard. The driver and the vehicle refused to stop and led officers on a brief pursuit at which point the vehicle stopped and the driver fled on foot. Officers gave chase and captured the driver and transported him to the Eagle Pass Police Department. During the course of his processing the male driver attempted to use fictitious identifying information. The male subject’s true identity was confirmed as 41-year-old Eric Diaz of Eagle Pass, Texas. A computer inquiry on Diaz revealed an active parole violation warrant from Austin, Texas which was confirmed. Diaz was presented before a magistrate and formally charged with evading arrest in a motor vehicle, resisting arrest and providing fictitious information with intent to conceal from justice. Diaz was remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a combined $15000 bond.
