Maverick County Democratic Party Primary Run-Off Election Day is May 22nd

The 2018 Maverick County, Texas Democratic Party Primary Run-Off Election is underway with the Early Voting Period running from May 14-18, 2018 at the City of Eagle Pass Multi-Purpose Center, located at 480 South Adams Street, from 7 A.M. through 7 P.M. and the regular Election Day on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at different County-wide Polls from 7 A.M. through 7 P.M., announced Maverick County Democratic Party Chairman Luis Alfonso “Poncho” Ruiz.
Maverick County voters have four important County-wide elections featured in the Democratic Party Primary Run-Off Election currently underway with Early Voting Period and scheduled for regular Election Day on Tuesday, May 22nd, including the County Judge position, County Commissioner Precinct 2 position, Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 position, and the Justice of the Peace Precinct 3A-B position, as well as other statewide races.
Battling in the Maverick County Judge race are current incumbent County Judge David R. Saucedo and challenger and former County Judge Rudy Bowles. The winner of the Democratic Primary Run-Off Election will become the next Maverick County Judge on January 1, 2019 as there is no Republican Party candidate in the November 8, 2018 General Election Day, unless a write-in candidate registers for the November 8th Election.
Another political race is the Maverick County Commissioner Precinct 2 position between incumbent Rosy Cantu and challenger Arianna Perez. There is no Republican Party candidate registered for the November 8th General Election. The winner of the Democratic Party Primary Run-Off Election will become the next Maverick County Commissioner Precinct 2, unless a write-in candidate were to register for the November 8th General Election.
Another political race on the ballot is for Maverick County Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 between incumbent Dora Madera and challenger Rosanna “Roxi” Rios with the winner in the Democratic Party Primary Run-Off Election becoming the next Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 as there is no Republican Party candidate in the November 8th General Election, unless a write-in candidate were to register.
The fourth political race being contested is for Maverick County Justice of the Peace Precinct 3A-B between incumbent David J. Castaneda and challenger Domingo “Mingo” Garcia with the winner becoming the next Justice of the Peace Precinct 3A-B as there is no Republican Party candidate in the November 8th General Election, unless a write-in candidate were to register.
An important contested race on the ballot is the one for the Democratic Party nominee in the Texas 23rd United States House of Representatives between Rick Trevino and Gina Ortiz-Jones with the winner facing incumbent Republican Congressman Will Hurd in the November 8th General Election.
Another key race being challenged is for the Democratic Party nominee for the Governor of Texas post between former Dallas County Sheriff Lupe Valdez and Houston businessman Andrew White with the winner facing incumbent Republican Governor Greg Abbott in the November 8th General Election.
Maverick County Polling Places for the Tuesday, May 22nd, Democratic Party Primary Run-Off Election are going to be the following:
Precincts 1A, 1B and 1C: Memorial Junior High, 1800 Lewis Street, Eagle Pass, Texas;
Precincts 2A and 2B: San Luis Elementary, 2090-A Williams Street, Eagle Pass, Texas;
Precinct 2C: Rosita Valley Elementary, 735 Rosita Valley Road, Eagle Pass, Texas;
Precinct 2D: El Indio Community Center, 115 West Texas Street, El Indio, Texas;
Precincts 3A and 3B: Seco Mines Elementary, 2900 Diaz Street, Eagle Pass, Texas;
Precinct 3C: Quemado Community Center, 20160 U.S. Highway 277 North, Quemado, Texas;
Precincts 4A, 4B, and 4C: Eagle Pass High School Girls Gym, 2020 Second Street, Eagle Pass, Texas; and
Precinct 4D: Henry B. Gonzalez Elementary, 400 Balcones Blvd., Eagle Pass, Texas.
All Maverick County registered voters are encouraged to go vote in the Democratic Party Primary Run-Off Election and cast your ballot for the candidates of your choice.
