Unofficial and Preliminary Recount Results of Maverick County Judge Race in May 22, 2018 Democratic Party Primary Run-Off Election Increases David R. Saucedo’s Victory by 8 Votes

The unofficial and preliminary results of the Recount petition filed by Maverick County Judge Candidate Rudy Bowles in the May 22, 2018 Maverick County Democratic Party Primary Run-Off Election held on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 before Visiting District Judge John Gabriel increased the total margin of victory by incumbent County Judge David R. Saucedo by 8 votes for a total margin of victory of 20 votes, according to Maverick County Democratic Party Chairman Luis Alfonso Ruiz.
After the Recount held on June 5th, David R. Saucedo has a total of 3,955 votes while Rudy Bowles received 3,935 votes, a 20 vote difference. Maverick County Democratic Party Chairman Luis Alfonso Ruiz noted, however, that these results are unofficial and preliminary because there are at least four votes in dispute between the parties which Judge Gabriel will rule on by next week. Once the results are finalized, the election results will be officially canvassed by the Maverick County Democratic Party or Judge Gabriel.
County Judge David R. Saucedo thanked all Maverick County residents who participated and voted in the May 22nd Maverick County Democratic Party Primary Run-Off Election.
Candidate Rudy Bowles was unavailable for comment. Bowles Campaign representatives stated that Rudy Bowles plans to file an election contest of the May 22nd Maverick County Democratic Party Primary Run-Off Election in the immediate future.
