City of Eagle Pass BEDC Business Forum to be held August 22nd
(Press Release) The City of Eagle Pass Business & Economic Development Committee (BEDC) will hold a Business Forum on August 22, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. – 2 p.m., at the International Center for Trade (ICT).
The Business Forum will bring awareness about State and Federal procurement opportunities available for small businesses.
The State of Texas and the Federal Government awards millions in contracts to small businesses throughout South Texas for a variety of services and products to support government projects and government operations.
Business Forum presenters include: Roxana Newton, Small Business Advocate with the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, and Hector Landez, Program Director with the Rio South Texas Regional Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC)-University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Both Newton and Landez have years in experience in assisting small businesses learn about how to successfully submit procurement applications.
“We are pleased that City of Eagle Pass, through its BEDC, is providing this great opportunity for Eagle Pass businesses,” says Mayor Ramsey English-Cantu. “The city council and I are committed to supporting all locally owned and operated businesses, especially when seeking State and Federal procurement opportunities,” adds Mayor English-Cantu.
This is the tenth business workshop held by the City of Eagle Pass BEDC since last October. Past procurement workshops have included: General Service Administration, Eagle Pass ISD, City of Eagle Pass, U.S. Air Force, State Comptroller’s Office, Small Business Administration, and Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas. The BEDC has scheduled business workshops throughout the rest of the year.
