Eagle Pass Eagles Blank Laredo LBJ Wolves 28-0 in District 29-6A Tilt

The mighty Eagle Pass High School Eagles blanked the visiting Laredo LBJ High School Wolves 28-0 in a key District 29-6A tilt at the Eagle Pass Independent School District Cozel Foster-Veterans Memorial Stadium on Friday, Octoober 5, 2018, in Eagle Pass, Texas, earning their first District 29-6A win after last week’s loss to Laredo United Longhorns 39-20.
The Eagles improve to 1-1 in District 29-6A standings and 4-1 overall in the season.
The high flying Eagles came out soaring in the first half against the LBJ Wolves with a solid 14-0 lead at Halftime on two touchdown passes from Eagles Quarterback Richie Luna to Wide Receivers Jose Hernandez on a 30 yard pass with 3:51 remaining in the First Quarter and Placekicker Eric Ramirez added the point after attempt to take a 7-0 followed by another 23 yards strike to Oscar Castillon in the Second Quarter and Placekicker Eric Ramirez added the extra point to take a 14-0 lead.
The Eagles Land Shark Defense completely dominated the LBJ Wolves potent offense throughout the entire game, suffocating the Wolves offense from scoring in the game.
In the Third Quarter, the Eagles War Cry Offense engineered a touchdown drive on their first possession of the second half with a 42 yard touchdown pass from Quarterback Richie Luna to Wide Receiver Jacob Ruiz with 9:55 minutes remaining in the Third Period and Placekicker Eric Ramirez added the point after attempt to give the Eagles a commanding 21-0 lead.
The Eagles capped their scoring in the Fourth Quarter on a four yard touchdown scamper by Quarterback Richie Luna and Placekicker Eric Ramirez went perfect for the game with 4 for 4 extra point attempts, making it 28-0 in the Fourth Stanza.
The Eagles Land Shark Defense manhandled the LBJ Wolves offense for the remainder of the game, precluding them from scoring in the game.
The Eagles next play the Laredo Nixon High School Mustangs on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 7:30 P.M. at the historic Laredo ISD Shirley Field in another important District 29-6A action.
