Eagle Pass BEDC Developers Workshop to be held November 15th
(Eagle Pass, TX – November 9, 2018) The City of Eagle Pass Business & Economic Development Committee (BEDC), Rio Grande Electric CO-OP, and AEP will hold a Developer’s Workshop on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., at the ICT (West Room). Representatives from Rio Grande Electric CO-OP and AEP will conduct a presentation on the requirements for electric hook-up service connections for new development and construction. CO-OP and AEP representatives will also discuss membership benefits and offer solutions for expedited services.
“I am pleased that the Rio Grande Electric CO-OP and AEP have offered to work with area developers to address hook-up concerns,” says Nik Libson, BEDC Energy & Natural Resources Chairman. “Developers are investing hundreds of thousands in new construction projects and anything that the CO-OP and AEP can do to expedite power service connection will greatly benefit area residents and our builders,” adds Libson.
Nik Libson and EMC’s Janice and Ernie Gonzalez met with Rio Grande Electric CO-OP’s new Chief Executive Officer Roger Andrade and Chief Operating Officer Therese Quiroz last Spring to discuss developers concerns. Andrade and Quiroz pledged their support and agreed to become active members of the Eagle Pass BEDC. The CO-OP and AEP have supported several BEDC projects including last month’s “Ready-to-Work” Collaborative Career Fair.
