Eagle Passans Arrested in Fayette County, Texas for Felony Possession of Cocaine
(Press Release) Two Eagle Pass, Texas residents were arrested on Monday, January 7, 2019, in Fayette County, Texas for felony possession of cocaine after a traffic violation stop resulted in a K-9 search that discovered 15 kilograms of cocaine behind the rear seat floor cover, announced Fayette County, Texas Sheriff’s Department.
A Ford F-150 Pick-Up truck was stopped for a traffic violation on IH-10 on mile marker 662 by Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputy Sgt. Randy Thumann. When Sgt. Thumann spoke to the driver, Sgt. Thumann became suspicious that the Ford F-150 Pick-Up truck may be involved in transporting drugs.
After receiving consent to search the Pick-Up truck from the driver, Sgt. Thumann and K-9 Kolt searched the truck and located 15 kilograms of cocaine behind the rear seat, in the rear floor and under the center console. The cocaine is valued at $1.5 Million.
The driver, 25 year old Leonardo Escobedo, and the passenger, 39 year old Margarita Yesenia Montes, both of Eagle Pass, Texas, were arrested for felony cocaine possession.
