2019 Eagle Pass-Piedras Negras Abrazo de la Amistad Honorees Announced

The Eagle Pass, Texas and Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico International Good Neighbor Councils President Rene Martinez announced the two persons who will be honored as Mister Amigo for the 2019 Abrazo de la Amistad Celebration on Friday, March 22, 2019 at the City of Eagle Pass International Bridge No. 1, representing the United States will be Mexican Consul Ismael Naveja Macias in Eagle Pass and for Mexico will be Sister Guadalupe Vastido Ocampo of Casa OMNIA in Piedras Negras.
The Abrazo de la Amistad Ceremony at mid-bridge on March 22, 2019 will officially kick-off the 2019 City of Eagle Pass International Friendship Festival during March of 2019.
Local, state, and national public dignitaries from both Mexico and the United States as well as public citizens will participate in the historic Abrazo de la Amistad Ceremony on March 22nd, symbolizing the friendship and brotherly love and respect that Eagle Pass and Piedras Negras citizens and governments have for one another since their founding in 1849.
The Abrazo de la Amistad Ceremony is open to the public and admission is free.
