Eagle Pass Lady Eagles Brooke Diaz and Kaitlin Galvan Named Co-Most Valuable Players in District 29-6A Softball, 11 Lady Eagles Receive All-District Honors

The mighty Eagle Pass High School Lady Eagles Softball Team had a record 11 players receiving 2019 District 29-6A All-District Softball Team honors, including senior catcher Brooke Diaz and senior pitcher Kaitlin Galvan named as Co-Most Valuable Players, announced Lady Eagles Head Softball Coach Oscar Ruiz.
The mighty Lady Eagles battery teammates Brooke Diaz and Kaitlin Galvan were selected as the 2019 District 29-6A Co-Most Valuable Players by the District Head Softball Coaches. Diaz led the Lady Eagles on defense behind the plate and on offense with her stellar hitting while Galvan went undefeated in District 29-6A with a perfect 12-0 pitching record. Diaz has previously signed a national letter of intent to play collegiate softball at Louisiana Tech University Lady Techsters in Ruston, Louisiana.
Joining Diaz and Galvan on the All-District Softball Team are six Lady Eagles named to the All-District First Team including senior center fielder Leslie Martinez, senior outfielder Alyssa Lara, senior second baseman Lorelei Morales, senior third baseman Alexandra Martinez, sophomore shortstop LaShay Reyes, and sophomore first baseman Kaylynne Ruiz.
Senior outfielder Leslie Martinez has signed a national of letter of intent to play collegiate softball at the University of Texas at Permian Basin in Odessa, Texas while senior third baseman Alexandra Martinez has also signed a national letter of intent to play at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas.
In addition, three Lady Eagles were named to the Honorable Mention Team including sophomore pitcher Alyssa Galvan, junior outfielder Paola Daniel, and sophomore outfielder Cristabel Martinez.
