Robert Butler’s Art Show Draws Many Aficionados
World reknowned and Eagle Pass artist extraordinaire, Robert “Bob” Butler, one man Art Show recently celebrated at the Eagles Wings Art Center, located on S. Adams street in the Fort Duncan Park in Eagle Pass during November 5-7, 2010 drew many Eagle Pass and Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico art aficionados.
Titled “Small Works,”Butler dazzled the art lovers with a diverse array of genres and subjects. From bright and colorful oil paintings of horses, lobos, flowers, westerns scenes, and Mexican scenes to watercolor primroses, armadillo, hillsides, and more, Butler mesmerized the art aficionados who viewed the “ Small Works” collection.
Local art patrons enjoyed a “preview” of the Butler Small Works Collection on Tuesday, November 4th at the Eagles Wings Art Center with live music by Philadelphia’s gift to Eagle Pass, Jeff Harvey, and a wine and cheese hors d’voures reception.
Eagle Pass Mayor and art aficionado, Ramsey English Cantu, attended the preview and thanked Butler for promoting the arts and culture in Eagle Pass. Mayor Cantu hopes more local artists will benefit from the City of Eagle Pass-supported Eagles Wings Art Center.
Butler is currently serving as arts director of the Eagles Wings Art Center as well as teaching art classes to young and old local artists.
