Eagle Pass American Little League fall to Midland Northern in State Championship 11 to 6;
The 2011 Eagle Pass American Little League 12 Year-Old All-Stars fell to the Midland Northern Little League All-Stars by the score of 11 to 6 in the Texas West State Championship game on Sunday, July 24, 2011, at Kelly Field in Fort Worth, Texas culminating a great tournament run for the Eagle Pass squad.
Midland Northern Little League now advances to the Southwestern Regional Little League Tournament in Waco, Texas.
In their first tournament game on Thursday, July 21st, Eagle Pass American Little League defeated North Brownsville Little League by a score of 4 to 0.
In the second-round, Eagle Pass American fell to Midland Northern by a score of 11 to 7 with Eagle Pass falling to the losers bracket and Midland Northern advancing to the championship game.
In their third-game Eagle Pass American defeated North Brownsville by a score of 4 to 2, eliminating North Brownsville while Eagle Pass advanced to the Championship game against Midland Northern.
The Eagle Pass American Little League All-Stars include Jason Ballones, Julio Cesar Ruiz, Isaac Cardona, Ricardo Medina, Ernest Maldonado, Jovan Garza, Joseph Flores, Ruben Esquivel, Mikey Hernandez, Deandre Torres, Joe Rodriguez, and David Ramirez. Team manager is Ricardo Medina and assistant coaches are Albert Torres and Jesus Ballones.
The Eagle Pass American Little League All-Stars won the Texas District 35 Championship, the Texas West Sectional 3 Championship, and Runner-Up Champions at the Texas West State Championship.
