Young Girl dies in rollover accident; Mother and two daughters involved

On September 4, 2012, around 5:03 pm, the Maverick County Sheriff’s office received a call in reference to a rollover accident on Highway 481. Upon arrival, Deputies found a silver Pontiac Grand Prix resting on its side against the guardrail. Ms. Vanessa Esqueda, 23 years of age, and her two minor daughters were identified as the passengers involved in the accident. A seven year old female child was transported to Fort Duncan Medical Center where she was later pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Tere Melendrez at 7:00 pm. The Texas Department of Public Safety was summoned to the scene of the accident where they took over the investigation.
