United Medical Centers dedicated the Dr. Ted W. Soret Administration Building

The United Medical Centers Board of Directors held a ceremony and reception on Wednesday, November 28, 2012, to formally dedicate its administration building in honor of its longtime Board of Directors President Ted W. Soret, D.D.S., deceased, for the past 27 years.
Dr. Soret served as a volunteer Board of Director of United Medical Centers for 28 years and was President of the Board during the past 27 years before his demise. He practiced dentistry for 51 years in Eagle Pass, Texas. Dr. Soret established his dental practice in 1960 in Eagle Pass. He served as Chief of Staff for the Maverick County Hospital District in 1983, now Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center. He held consulting privileges at the local hospital since 1960.
Dr. Soret was married to Mary Francis Soret and they had three children born to them during their marriage, Ted Soret, Jr., Nick Soret, and Kathleen Soret. He also had one grandson, Stephen Garret.
‘Dr. Soret was an outstanding President of the United Medical Centers Board of Directors, dentist, husband, father, and community volunteer,’ said Socorro Hurley, President of the UMC Board of Directors. ‘We are extremely pleased to honor Dr. Soret’s leadership and philanthropy to the United Medical Centers for 28 years by naming UMC’s administration building in his name, The Dr. Ted W. Soret, D.D.S. Administration Building, located at 2525 North Veterans Boulevard, in Eagle Pass,’added Hurley.
Dr. Soret attended Creighton University, the University of Texas at Austin, and received his doctorate in Dentistry degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas.
After the formal dedication ceremony, guests were treated to refreshments and hor’s D houvres.
