2012 District 29-5A All-District Football Team Announced

The 2012 District 29-5A All-District Football Team selections have been announced said Eagle Pass High School Eagles Head Coach Tom Gonzalez and C.C. Winn High School Mavericks Head Coach George Ruiz.
Selected to the 2012 District 29-5A All-District Football Team are Eagles sophomore quarterback Ty Chisum as the Offensive Newcomer of the Year, Eagles sophomore linebacker Mike Montalvo as the Defensive Newcomer of the Year, Eagles safety Kevin Chisum as unanimous First Team Defense, Eagles linebacker Richo Muñoz as First Team Defense, Eagles defensive end Evan Gloria as unanimous First Team Defense, Eagles cornerback Troy Robledo as First Team Defense, Eagles defensive tackle Alex Hinojosa as First Team Defense, Eagles wide receiver R.J. Gomez as First Team Offense, Eagles offensive tackle Cesar Iracheta, Jr. as First Team Offense, Mavericks sophomore running back Deion Alonso as First Team Offense, and Mavericks offensive tackle Gabriel Gutierrez as First Team Offense.
Also selected are Eagles running back Carlos Villarreal as Second Team Offense, Eagles wide receiver and safety R.J. Ruiz as Second Team Offense and Second Team Defense, Eagles center Robert Sanchez as Second Team Offense, Eagles linebacker Jesus Torres as Second Team Defense, Mavericks defensive end Mark Perez as Second Team Defense, and Mavericks offensive guard as Second Team Offense.
Also named to the Honorable Mention Team are Eagles cornerback Javier Cardona, Eagles linebacker Tyler Guillot, Eagles linebacker Guillermo Hernandez, Eagles defensive tackle Rolando Fernandez, Eagles running back Jesus Sanchez, Eagles offensive tackle Juan Martinez, Mavericks running back Cris Cantu, Mavericks tight end Emilio Hinojosa, Mavericks center Kevin Canizales, Mavericks safety Kevin de Luna, Mavericks linebacker Juan Elizondo, Mavericks linebacker Erik Maldonado, Mavericks defensive tackle Jose Luis Flores, and Mavericks defensive end Pedro Flores.
District 29-5A football champion Del Rio High School Rams standout running back Gudelio Gutierrez was unanimously selected as the Offensive Most Valuable Player and standout safety Claudio Arizpe was named the Defensive Most Valuable Player while Rams Head Coach Steve Huffman was named Coach of the Year.
