Maverick County citizen Cynthia Bylik was recognized and honored by the Eagle Pass City Council and Eagle Pass Police Department on Tuesday, December 4, 2012, for her innovative and inspiring donation of 50 homemade stuffed Bears to the Eagle Pass Police Department for children experiencing difficult and/or stressful moments in their lives.
Eagle Pass Police Chief Tony Castaneda stated that Bylik’s donation of the 50 stuffed Bears has been a big hit with local children in distress and a positive contribution to the Eagle Pass Police Department.
Bylik was inspired by her own son who clutches and takes his stuffed Bear wherever he goes or is in a stressful situation or moment. Bylik took it upon herself to research, design, and custom make these 50 stuffed Bears. She donated the first 50 Bears to the Eagle Pass Police Department and is now busy making additional Bears for other law enforcement agencies.
Mayor Ramsey English Cantu and City Council members Asalia Casares, Rudy Villalpando, Luis Sifuentes, and Billy Davis joined Police Chief Tony Castaneda in presenting and honoring Cynthia Bylik with a plaque of appreciation for her innovation and distinguished community service at the City Council meeting on Tuesday, December 4th.
Cynthia Bylik thanked the Eagle Pass City Council and Police Department.
