Detective Ricardo Daniel honored by City Council upon retirement

Eagle Pass Police Department Detective Ricardo Daniel was recognized and honored by the City of Eagle Pass City Council and Police Chief Tony Castaneda on Tuesday, December 4, 2012, for his outstanding public service as a law enforcement officer for the past 36 years upon his retirement from employment with the City of Eagle Pass.
Daniel started his law enforcement career with the United States Navy followed by a stint with the Maverick County Sheriff’s Department as a Deputy Sheriff, then became the first Maverick County Juvenile Probation Officer, worked as an Investigator with the 293rd District Attorney’s Office, and served 21 years with the Eagle Pass Police Department including as Police Chief.
Eagle Pass Police Chief Tony Castaneda noted Daniel had worked in many criminal investigations which resulted in convictions including the Ken Meissner and Juan Cisneros murder cases. Castaneda also noted Detective Daniel developed an expertise in check and financial fraud cases and identity theft cases in his service as a public law enforcement officer. Daniel’s last day with the Eagle Pass Police Department is December 18th.
Eagle Pass Mayor Ramsey English Cantu and City Council members Asalia Cazares, Billy Davis, Rudy Villalpando, and Luis Sifuentes joined in congratulating Detective Ricardo Daniel on his distinguished career and service to the Eagle Pass Police Department. Mayor Cantu and the City Council together with Police Chief Tony Castaneda presented and honored Detective Ricardo Daniel with a plaque of appreciation for his loyal 21 years of service to the citizens of Eagle Pass and 36 years as a public law enforcement officer.
Detective Daniel thanked the City of Eagle Pass Police Department, Mayor Cantu and City Council, Police Chief Tony Castaneda, his fellow officers, his wife and family, and the citizens of Eagle Pass for allowing him to serve them for 21 years of his 36 years career.
Eagle Pass Police Department Officers, Detectives, and Staff were present to congratulate and honor Detective Daniel on his distinguished career and retirement.
