Citizen of the Year Nominations Now Open

The Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce announced that it is now accepting nominations for selection of the 2012 “Citizen of the Year”. The recipient of this award will be chosen based on outstanding service gratuitously and unselfishly rendered to the community during the year 2012, therefore nominations submitted must identify the extend of involvement during 2012 by the nominee. Only activities outside a nominee’s regular employment will be considered.

Among the past award recipients are Maverick County Jr. Livestock Association, Claudia Wright, Roberto Mireles, and Enrique Montalvo, Jr.

Official nomination forms and guidelines for candidate nominations may be obtained at the Chamber of Commerce, located at 400 Garrison Street. The deadline to submit nominations to the Chamber of Commerce is January 31, 2013, at 5 p.m.

The name of the 2012 “Citizen of the Year” will be announced at the annual Chamber of Commerce banquet which is tentatively scheduled to be held in February 2013.
