City Council extends deadline to apply for City Manager until January 18th

The City of Eagle Pass City Council voted unanimously to extend the application deadline for the vacant City Manager position from January 2, 2013 to January 18, 2013 at their Regular Meeting held on Tuesday, January 8, 2013.
A total of 22 persons applied for the earlier job announcement, but for unknown reasons the Eagle Pass City Council approved to re-open and extend the City Manager application deadline to January 18th. Anyone interested in applying for the vacant City Manager position may do so by contacting the City of Eagle Pass Human Resources Director, Isabel Perez, at (830) 773-1111.

According to the city’s job description, the City Manager works under the guidance from the Mayor and City Council and plans, organizes, integrates, fiscally controls, directs, administers, reviews, and evaluates the activities, operations, programs and services of the City of Eagle Pass.
The minimum qualifications prefers a Master’s Degree from an accredited university with major course work in Public Administration (MPA), Business Administration (MBA), Accounting, Finance, or related field and experience equivalent to six years full time work as a City Manager, Administrator, Finance Director, or comparable managerial/administrative position, and three years supervisory experience, or an equivalent of education and experience.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
The Eagle Pass City Council will review all applications at their January 22, 2013, Special Meeting and possibly select a short list of finalists to be interviewed in February of 2013 and the possible selection of a new City Manager in February.
